Israeli airstrike kills Houthi rebel prime minister in Sanaa

SUMMARY

An Israeli airstrike reported on Saturday killed the prime minister of the Houthi-controlled government in Sanaa, Ahmed al-Rahawi. The strike targeted a government workshop and also resulted in the deaths of several ministers. The Israeli military stated it aimed at a "Houthi terrorist regime military target."

The Houthis have been launching missiles at Israel during the ongoing conflict in Gaza, claiming these attacks show support for the Palestinians. Earlier this week, multiple strikes in Sanaa killed at least 10 and wounded over 100 people. Israeli attacks on rebel-held Yemeni areas are in retaliation for Houthi assaults on Israel and its shipping interests.
