UK will 'not be involved' in Donald Trump's blockade of Strait of Hormuz

The UK will not participate in President Trump's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. A UK government spokesman emphasized support for freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and noted efforts to form a coalition with France to protect trade routes. Meanwhile, UK mine-hunting systems are already deployed in the region.

Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey urged the UK to avoid joining the blockade and favor diplomatic negotiations instead. Trump criticized UK leadership for its stance.
