FAA says commercial airlines can resume their regular schedules

The FAA has lifted flight restrictions previously imposed on 40 major airports during the recent government shutdown. Airlines can now resume normal schedules starting Monday at 6 a.m. EST. The restrictions were initially required due to staff shortages at air traffic control facilities but were reduced as conditions improved. Secretary Sean Duffy and FAA Administrator Bryan Bedford confirmed the decision, emphasizing safety as a priority. "The FAA is aware of reports of non-compliance by carriers over the course of the emergency order," indicating potential enforcement actions may follow.
