Asia-Pacific allies ink $57 billion in deals with US companies

SUMMARY

Asia-Pacific allies reached $57 billion in 22 deals with American companies at the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Forum in Tokyo, as stated by U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. Japan expressed interest in purchasing more U.S. oil.

The investment total was increased from $56 billion after finalizing an additional deal post-conference. Burgum emphasized the importance of supplying energy to allies "so they are not forced to rely on adversaries."

He highlighted Japan’s role in boosting oil supply and their partnership with the U.S., mentioning their commitment to releasing a significant portion of oil reserves.
