Norway's crown princess' son charged with 32 counts
Marius Borg Høiby, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, faces 32 charges, including four rapes, abuse, and filming women’s private parts without consent. In all instances, the four women had consensual sex with Marius Borg Høiby before the alleged incidents took place.
The Oslo prosecutor, Sturla Henriksbø, detailed the indictment, citing the incidents from 2018 to 2024. One rape allegedly occurred at Skaugum in 2018, where Høiby filmed a sleeping woman, inserting a finger into her vagina. Three other rapes in 2023 and 2024 involved similar non-consensual acts and filming. Additional charges include death threats, violence against former partner Nora Haukland, and restraining order violations.
The investigation uncovered hundreds of thousands of media files, including explicit videos. Henriksbø emphasized, “Rape and violence in close relationships are very serious acts that can leave lasting marks.” Høiby denies the gravest charges but admitted to cocaine-fueled violence at Frogner. The prosecution insists on equal treatment under the law, despite Høiby’s royal ties. Victims’ attorneys, including John Christian Elden, noted the case’s burden, with one victim seeking anonymity amid media scrutiny.
