ABC pulls Jimmy Kimmel off air for Charlie Kirk assassination comments

SUMMARY

ABC has indefinitely pulled Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show after backlash over his comments about the motives of the man accused of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Brendan Carr, chair of the Federal Communications Commission, criticized Kimmel's remarks during a podcast.

Shortly before ABC's announcement, Nexstar, which owns numerous local stations, stated it would replace "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" with other programming due to Kimmel's comments. They added that they "strongly object" to his remarks regarding Kirk's killing.
