Turkish wildfire caused by 2 people who were 'mentally unstable'
SUMMARY
A fire in the Canakkale affected four villages and was caused by two individuals deemed mentally unstable. The fire, which started on July 15, which took 4 planes, 6 helicopters from the air, 24 water tankers, 12 water supply vehicles, 16 fire trucks, 3 first response vehicles, 6 dozers, 5 trailers, 11 foreign institution support and 220 personnel to get under control. It damaged some houses and properties in Naldöken village, with many animals perishing.
After about 21 hours, the fire was brought under control. Investigators identified suspects M.O. (62) and R.O. (75) as responsible. They were taken into custody but released after processing. The restoration of a nearby mosque was also impacted.
