Germany records highest number of arson attacks on Christian churches

SUMMARY

Anti-Christian violence is on the rise. Christianity in Europe faces increasing intolerance, according to a report from the Austrian NGO OIDAC Europe. In 2024, there were 2,211 documented anti-Christian offenses, including vandalism and physical violence, affecting local communities.

Despite a slight decrease from 2023's 2,444 incidents, OIDAC cautions that this may be due to inadequate reporting. Notably, attacks on individuals increased from 232 to 274.

Germany reported 337 anti-Christian crimes, up 22% from the previous year, leading Europe in church arson incidents. One survey indicated that many attacks in predominantly Catholic Poland go unreported, suggesting a broader issue of hostility towards Christians.
