'leave Minneapolis'
Top border patrol official expected to leave Minneapolis as Trump sends Homan to the state
SUMMARY
Top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino and some of his agents are set to leave Minneapolis as President Trump sends border czar Tom Homan to oversee immigration operations in response to the fatal shooting of nurse Alex Pretti by federal agents.
Trump indicated willingness to work with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz on reducing federal agent presence. However, frustrations arose over Bovino’s handling of the incident, especially after he claimed Pretti aimed to "massacre" agents.
Meanwhile, Minnesota’s attorney general is challenging the federal immigration surge in court, arguing it threatens state rights. The hearing ended without a ruling on whether to halt the operation.
