Fears Iran missiles could hit Europe as Diego Garcia attacked

Iran's missile attack on the British military base at Diego Garcia raises concerns that major European capitals could be targeted. This marks the first deployment of intermediate-range missiles in the conflict, indicating a significant escalation in Iran's capabilities. Analysts point out that missiles fired towards Diego Garcia, located about 3,800 km from Iran, demonstrate a range previously underestimated.

General Sir Richard Barrons warned that Iran's power may have been "serially underestimated," noting London's increasing vulnerability. Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi criticized UK actions that he claims endanger British lives. As tensions rise, military operations continue in the region, affecting global oil supplies and prices.
