Split verdict reached in Harvey Weinstein sex crimes retrial

Harvey Weinstein was convicted of one count of engaging in criminal sex in his New York retrial but acquitted on another charge. The jury could not decide on a rape count. There were reported tensions during deliberations, with the foreperson noting jurors were "attacking, talking together, fight together."

Prosecutors accused Weinstein of preying on women using his Hollywood power while the defense claimed he engaged in consensual relationships. Weinstein has pleaded not guilty, asserting the encounters were consensual. Two women, Mimi Haley and Jessica Mann, along with a third, Kaja Sokola, testified against him. The trial follows the overturning of Weinstein's previous conviction by the New York Court of Appeals.
