Egypt unveils grand Egyptian museum dedicated to its ancient civilisation

Cairo opens the Grand Egyptian Museum, aimed at showcasing Egypt’s heritage and boosting tourism, this $1 billion facility highlights ancient artifacts across 24,000 square meters near the Giza Pyramids.

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi described the museum as a fusion of “the genius of ancient Egyptians and the creativity of modern Egyptians.” The site, featuring a bridge to the pyramids, will exhibit over 5,000 artifacts from King Tutankhamun.

The government expects the museum to attract 30 million visitors annually by 2032 to support its struggling economy. The museum opens to the public on Tuesday.
