Trump hotel to be built on site of Nato bombing

Serbia has approved a Trump family hotel project on a site in Belgrade hit during the 1999 NATO bombing. Jared Kushner aims to develop a $500 million luxury hotel with his firm, Affinity Partners. The Serbian parliament voted 130-40 to classify the redevelopment as urgent.

Opposition groups argue the site is a crucial war memorial, saying, "The demolition of the Generalstab must not happen. We will defend it." Critics see the project as a betrayal of national history.

Despite the backlash, some lawmakers believe it will enhance Belgrade’s tourism and improve relations with the Trump administration. Pre-sales have already began on the website.
