Syrians and Afghans reach new highs in violent crime in Germany

SUMMARY

A new BKA report reveals significant disparities in crime rates among suspects in Germany, highlighting that over 40% of suspects are migrants, with Syrians and Afghans particularly overrepresented.

The report indicates that while 163 German citizens are suspected of crimes per 100,000 individuals, the rates for Syrians and Afghans are 1,740 and 1,722, respectively.

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt responded by proposing stricter measures, stating, “Whoever integrates and obeys the laws can stay in Germany. Those who become criminals will lose that right.” Plans are in place for the deportations of criminal migrants from Germany.
