World's first high-pulse microwave robot to fry drone swarms in seconds unveiled

SUMMARY

The U.S. has unveiled the world's first high-pulse microwave robot designed to combat drone swarms quickly and effectively. Named the Leonidas Autonomous Robotic system, it combines Epirus' microwave technology with General Dynamics Land Systems' TRX hybrid-electric tracked vehicle. This mobile unit can disable hostile drones instantly using bursts of microwave energy, offering a precise countermeasure with minimal collateral damage.

According to Epirus CEO Andy Lowery, this partnership melds traditional defense contractors with emerging tech firms to boost defense innovation. The system will be showcased at the AUSA Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
