'MR. TERMINATOR'

Black swan is banned from town and exiled 150 miles away

SUMMARY

A black swan, nicknamed Reggie, has been exiled 150 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon after "terrorizing" tourists and attempting to drown other swans. Town swan warden Cyril Bennis, said capturing Reggie - who he calls Mr Terminator - 'had to be done' and that the mischievous bird 'had attitude', capturing local attention for months. He noted that other swans seemed to respect Reggie as he swam through the water.

Reggie had been causing "an enormous amount of trouble" in the last few weeks by trying to mate with a white swan, but Bennis said that was "not going to happen on my watch."

Reggie is headed to the Dawlish Waterfowl Centre in Devon. The capture was challenging, leaving Mr. Bennis "ruffled" from the struggle. Despite his notoriety, locals believe his departure is a relief for the quieter mute swans. Bennis stated, "No word of a lie. It's been an absolute ruddy nightmare."
