'return to china'
Two pandas bid France 'adieu' for early retirement in China
SUMMARY
Huan Huan and Yuan Zi, two giant pandas, returned to China on Tuesday after over 12 years at Beauval Zoo in France. Originally expected to stay until 2027, their departure was due to Huan Huan's kidney failure. Hundreds of fans gathered to bid them farewell.
A Chinese embassy official assured, "Rest assured, French friends, new giant pandas will arrive in the future." The pair, now 17, had been a major attraction, producing three cubs during their stay. Meanwhile, their cubs, including Yuan Meng, are expected to remain in France. Their return is a significant event in China's panda diplomacy efforts.
