ChatGPT's GPT-5 models released

GPT-5 has been released for all users today, including free, Plus, Pro, and Team subscribers, but paid users have higher limits. OpenAI claims that GPT-5 is a significant improvement over previous versions, featuring built-in reasoning skills. It is described as a "unified system" that combines quick responses with deep reasoning for complex questions.

The model uses a router to determine the appropriate features based on the conversation's complexity. OpenAI also highlighted that early benchmarks suggest GPT-5 slightly outperforms Claude's Opus 4.1.

If users cannot access it yet, they can try using it through Copilot, which also provides the reasoning capability.
