Critically wounded national guard member moved to in-patient rehab

SUMMARY

A West Virginia National Guard member, Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, is transitioning to in-patient rehabilitation after sustaining a critical gunshot wound to the head in November. He was shot while on patrol near the White House, an incident that resulted in the death of his colleague, Spc. Sarah Beckstrom. Dr. Jeffrey Mai reported Wolfe has "made extraordinary progress," being able to breathe on his own and stand with assistance.

His family is thankful for the care he received and has requested prayers as he embarks on a challenging recovery journey. "The care has been remarkable, and they have told us Andy’s progress is miraculous," his parents said.
