Russia completes first stage of Kalashnikov cartridge plant in Venezuela

Russia has completed the first stage of a Kalashnikov cartridge plant in Venezuela, with the capacity to produce 70 million 7.62mm cartridges annually. Rosoboron export CEO Alexander Mikheyev emphasized that the project was challenging due to sanctions but successful in enhancing Venezuela's defense capabilities.

The plant features modern production lines for steel core, tracer, and blank cartridges. Oleg Yevtushenko from Rostec noted that the goal is to establish a full production cycle in Venezuela for national defense forces. The launch ceremony was attended by Venezuelan officials, highlighting the importance of military cooperation between Russia and Venezuela.
