Pentagon says 'transgender troops' are disqualified from service without an exemption

Exemptions require 36 months of stability in the service member's sex, no attempts to transition, and adherence to standards associated with their sex. The memo is facing legal challenges, with complaints about potential bias from the presiding judge in the related case.
