SoundCloud data breach impacts 29.8 million accounts

Hackers have stolen personal information from over 29.8 million SoundCloud accounts. The breach was confirmed on December 15, following user reports of access issues. SoundCloud activated its incident response after detecting unauthorized activity.

The affected data includes email addresses and information from public profiles, but no financial or password data was compromised. SoundCloud later revealed that the ShinyHunters extortion group was behind the attack and attempted to extort the company.

Have I Been Pwned confirmed the breach's extent, involving 30 million unique email addresses and associated profile data. The attackers even threatened to publicly release the stolen data.
