Suspected attacker on Nord Stream pipelines arrested in Italy

In Italy, authorities have arrested Serhii K., a suspected organizer involved in the Nord Stream pipeline attacks. He was captured in the Rimini province.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office reported that he faces charges including creating an explosive blast, sabotage, and destruction of property. Serhii K. allegedly coordinated an operation in September 2022 to place explosives on Nord Stream 1 and 2 near Bornholm Island.

The group used a sailboat, rented with fake identification, to reach the site. The attacks caused significant damage to the pipelines on September 26, 2022.
