Iranian diplomats banned from EU Parliament

Iranian diplomats are banned from entering the European Parliament due to the regime's crackdown on protests. President Roberta Metsola announced the ban, which affects all Iranian passport holders linked to the regime, effective immediately.

This decision comes amid rising international condemnation of Tehran’s violent response to demonstrations against its leadership. Metsola indicated that the EU is considering additional sanctions, including designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. She highlighted the need for more than just sympathy for the protesters, stating, "Those braving the streets...need more than just solidarity."
