At least 50 people shot, 6 fatally, in 4th of July weekend gun violence in Chicago

Over the Fourth of July weekend, at least 50 people were shot in Chicago, with six fatalities reported.

Notable incidents include a man shot in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood while inside a vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Another victim was found dead in the Austin neighborhood with a gunshot wound to the head. In a separate mass shooting near a courthouse, four men were injured, three critically.

In Avalon Park, a 16-year-old girl was shot and killed, while earlier, two women were shot, resulting in one fatality.

Several other shootings left multiple people injured across the city, prompting ongoing investigations by police.
