US drops COVID vaccine recommendations for healthy children, pregnant women

SUMMARY

The CDC has stopped recommending routine COVID-19 vaccinations for pregnant women and healthy children. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced this change in a video on social media. Kennedy, known for his skepticism about vaccines, aims to reshape the U.S. health system.

Additionally, the FDA plans to require new clinical trials for approving annual COVID-19 boosters, targeting older adults and those at higher risk.

Moderna and Pfizer did not respond to requests for comments regarding these updates.
