German government to pay over €630 million to the Gates Foundation until 2027

The German government plans to transfer over 630 million euros to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation by 2027, the Berliner Zeitung reports. The funding focuses on projects related to nutrition, digitalization, and health.

About 290 million euros will support the "Global Project on Food Security and Resilience," aiding governments in improving nutrition and resilience. Critics argue this may lead to political influence in countries like Ethiopia, Malawi, and Madagascar.

An additional 220 million euros will assist with global digital transformation, aligning with the German government's political goals. Moreover, 270 million euros will fund a health program in Ethiopia, linked to WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
