Trump says reciprocal tariffs will target all countries

President Donald Trump announced plans for reciprocal tariffs to include all nations, not just a select few with significant trade imbalances. He will reveal his tariff plan, dubbed "Liberation Day," on Wednesday. Current tariffs have already been applied to aluminum, steel, autos, and Chinese goods.

Trump stated, “You’d start with all countries,” emphasizing inclusivity.

White House adviser Kevin Hassett previously noted the focus was on 10 to 15 countries. Trump views tariffs as protective measures for the domestic economy, but concerns about a trade war are raising fears of a recession.
