Man charged with 'assault' over Stoneybatter mass stabbing known to police

A 29-year-old man, Gabriel Fereira Motta Valladeres, faces charges related to a knife attack in Stoneybatter, Dublin. He appeared in court with charges of two counts of assault causing harm, possession of a box-cutter knife, and possession of scissors.

Valladeres assaulted two men on different streets on February 9. Detective Garda David Chapman detailed the arrest process, noting an immediate medical request for his client. Valladeres, originally from Brazil, was emotional during the proceedings. He has been remanded in custody, with a video link court appearance set for February 18, where a bail application will be made.
