Ofcom boss calls on the BBC to 'seriously' examine impartiality concerns

Lord Grade, chairman of Ofcom, urged the BBC to "seriously" address impartiality concerns following a whistleblower's internal report highlighting allegations of bias and misinformation. Michael Prescott, a former adviser to the BBC's Editorial Guidelines Committee, detailed his concerns about the corporation's reporting, including the editing of a Donald Trump speech.

He expressed frustration over the BBC's inaction and stated, "I departed with profound and unresolved concerns." Prescott will testify before Parliament's Culture, Media and Sport committee regarding these issues, as calls grow for BBC leadership to resign.

Concerns over the BBC's editorial standards are under scrutiny as the government plans a review of its Royal Charter.
