Jeffrey Epstein invested with Peter Thiel
Jeffrey Epstein, a registered sex offender, met many influential individuals but only invested with a few. Among them was billionaire Peter Thiel. Epstein invested $40 million in two Valar Ventures funds, a firm backed by Mr. Thiel, which is now worth nearly $170 million. This investment is the largest remaining asset of Epstein's estate, six years after his death.
Victims of Epstein's abuse may not benefit from this windfall. Most have already settled with the estate, giving up future claims. Meanwhile, the estate's money is likely to go to Epstein’s former girlfriend and advisers. Lawyer David Boies criticized the government for not pursuing asset seizure to aid victims. The estate's value is now estimated at over $200 million, despite past predictions of a much lower amount.
Once a lawsuit against the estate is resolved, remaining assets will be distributed according to Epstein's secret trust.
