Former WaPo reporter says 'we want these executives dead' after murder of health insurance CEO

UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot and killed in Manhattan. The suspect remains at large.

Following his death, Taylor Lorenz, a former Washington Post reporter, posted messages on social media implying support for violence against healthcare executives.

In a Bluesky post, she remarked, "And people wonder why we want these executives dead," suggesting anger towards CEOs over healthcare policies. Lorenz defended her posts, claiming there is "very justified hatred" toward such executives. She urged to "call out this broken system" and advocated for universal healthcare. Thompson was 50 and left behind a family.
