Woman in Minneapolis is fatally shot after obstructing federal agents
A woman in Minneapolis was killed by federal immigration officers after obstructing them with her vehicle, which ICE described as “an act of domestic terrorism,” saying that she was shot in self-defense after trying to run over a federal agent with her car.
The incident occurred on East 34th Street and Portland Avenue during a protest against ICE.
Protesters blocked ICE operations, and one woman reportedly weaponized her vehicle, prompting an officer to fire shots.
Tricia McLaughlin of the DHS stated that “an ICE officer, fearing for his life, fired defensive shots.” This incident coincides with a significant increase in immigration enforcement in Minneapolis.
Protest activities included shouting slogans and throwing snowballs at officers. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation.
