China launches military drills simulating blockade of Taiwan ports

China has launched live-fire military drills around Taiwan, simulating a blockade of its ports. This move has drawn condemnation from Taiwan, which accuses Beijing of "military intimidation."

Taiwan reports that it has detected Chinese coast guard vessels in nearby waters, while its military prepared rapid response exercises. Chinese officials warned that "external forces" aiding Taiwan could lead to conflict.

The drills, named "Justice Mission 2025," involve troops from various military branches and aim to bolster combat readiness and deterrence capabilities.

Beijing regards any attempts to halt its unification with Taiwan as futile.
