Crew 11 safely splashes down after shortened mission

Four astronauts safely returned to Earth after a six-day journey from the International Space Station. Crew 11, consisting of Zena Cardman, Mike Fincke, Kimiya Yui, and Oleg Platonov, landed in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego. Their return was expedited due to a medical issue involving one crewmate, which NASA has not publicly detailed.

Cardman expressed gratitude on behalf of the crew upon splashdown, and they showed good health after exiting the capsule. All four are expected to undergo further medical evaluations upon arrival at a local hospital.

With their departure, astronaut Chris Williams is left managing the U.S. section of the station until Crew 12's arrival in February.
