Microsoft pledges $4 Billion toward A.I. education

Microsoft plans to invest over $4 billion in cash and tech services to train millions in artificial intelligence. This initiative will support schools, community colleges, and nonprofits. A key part of the effort is the Microsoft Elevate Academy, aiming to help 20 million people earn A.I. certificates.

Brad Smith, Microsoft's president, stated the goal is to ensure A.I. education is accessible in every school. The funding aims to address the rapid push for A.I. training amid concerns regarding its educational impact.

Microsoft’s previous decade-long effort has focused on promoting computer science in schools. The new program will also support a Code.org initiative called "Hour of A.I." Smith noted, “We need to move faster for A.I. than we did for computer science.”
