Childlike sex dolls sold online by Chinese fast-fashion site

SUMMARY

Shein has been reported to authorities in France for selling a “sex doll with a childlike appearance.” The doll, about three feet tall and resembling a little girl, was described as having a “realistic” body and genitalia. France's consumer watchdog, DGCCRF, noted that the product's description implied child pornography, prompting them to refer the case to the public prosecutor.

Shein removed the product and stated they have launched an internal investigation.

The company, facing multiple penalties for previous violations, emphasized a “zero-tolerance policy” for inappropriate content. The controversy arises as Shein prepares to open its first physical store in Paris amid criticism over its business practices, including allegations of forced labor and environmental harm.
