Sweden to start stockpiling fuel and food

Sweden is preparing for potential crises or war by building stockpiles of essentials like fuel, food, and power generators. The government has allocated 1.4 billion kronor ($150 million) to enhance local preparedness.

This funding will be used for civil defense equipment, essential supplies, and infrastructure for secure leadership meetings.

The urgency to bolster preparations has grown after Russia's invasion of Ukraine and ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Recently, Sweden's central bank advised citizens to keep cash on hand in case of disruptions.
