NHS trains midwives in trans breastfeeding workshops

NHS midwives have received training from the Queer Birth Club, which promotes "male breastfeeding" under the slogan "birthing people ain’t all women." The organization provides “LGBTQ+” competency and lactation classes across the UK, including training for NHS England.

Concerns have emerged about the content, which one nurse claimed undermines clinical standards and promotes extreme ideologies. A nurse who raised concerns about the training now faces disciplinary action. Campaigners are calling for an immediate NHS review to ensure training is based on biological realities.

They worry such teachings may endanger pregnant women and dismiss established clinical risks. The founder of the Queer Birth Club argues that criticizing trans women’s milk is “transmisogyny.”
