Women 'dating safety app' Tea breached, user information posted to 4chan

Users from 4chan have uncovered an exposed database linked to the women’s dating safety app, Tea, hosted on Google’s Firebase. They claim to be accessing personal information and selfies uploaded to the app. Tea confirmed that the breach affected data, including direct messages, from over two years ago.

The app, which boasts over 1.6 million users, aims to help women share information about men for safety. A 4chan user noted, “Yes, if you sent Tea App your face and drivers license, they doxxed you publicly!"

After the story broke, Tea acknowledged the breach, stating it contained 72,000 images. The app is currently investigating the unauthorized access while ensuring user data safety remains a priority.
