Nearly 1,000 people trapped on Mount Everest slopes

Nearly 1,000 people are trapped in campsites on Mount Everest's eastern slopes due to an intense snowstorm. Rescue teams and local villagers are working to clear snowfall and assist those affected. Reports indicate that tents have collapsed and some hikers are experiencing hypothermia.

Restrictions have been placed on entry to the Everest Scenic Area. The region is currently facing severe weather conditions, as southern areas of Nepal have experienced deadly landslides and floods.

Typhoon Matmo has also affected China, prompting evacuations of about 150,000 residents. Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, continues to pose challenges for climbers.
