Daylight theft by chainsaw armed thieves at the Louvre in Paris

SUMMARY

A gang of thieves executed a bold heist at the Louvre in Paris, stealing priceless jewelry, including the Eugénie Crown. The theft occurred in broad daylight as the criminals, masked and armed with chainsaws, used a freight lift to access a window and broke into the museum shortly after 9 AM.

They managed to escape with valuable items linked to Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine within just seven minutes.

The Eugénie Crown was later found broken outside the museum.

Thousands of tourists were evacuated as police responded to the emergency. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez confirmed that an investigation into the organized gang is underway. The Louvre remains closed to preserve evidence.
