At least 13 dead after Mexico's interoceanic train derails

SUMMARY

A train derailment in Mexico left at least 13 dead and 98 injured. The incident occurred in Asunción Ixtaltepec, Oaxaca, with 250 passengers on board. The Mexican Navy reported that 36 people required hospitalization.

An investigation will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the derailment, as stated by Attorney General Ernestina Godoy. President Claudia Sheinbaum has sent officials to assist the victims' families.
