Trump says Greenland's defense is 'two dog sleds'

President Trump emphasized that the U.S. must acquire Greenland to secure national interests, fearing that Russia or China might take control otherwise. He stated, "If we don’t do it, Russia or China will, and that’s not going to happen when I'm president." Trump's administration is not interested in leasing but in outright acquisition due to Greenland's strategic location.

Greenland’s leaders, however, have rejected this notion, insisting they want to remain independent and not part of the U.S. or Denmark, stating, "We don’t want to be Americans, we don’t want to be Danes, we want to be Greenlanders."

Danish Prime Minister warned that such U.S. actions could jeopardize NATO.
