US Justice Department begins releasing government Epstein files

The U.S. Department of Justice has started to release some files related to Jeffrey Epstein's crimes.

However, the initial release does not fully comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which requires a complete release within 30 days. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche acknowledged delays to protect victim privacy. He anticipates more documents will be released in the coming weeks.

Critics, including members of Congress, express frustration, emphasizing that "Any person who attempts to conceal or scrub the files will be subject to prosecution under the law." Some users reported issues with the search tool and heavily redacted documents in the release.
