Syrian men abused nine girls in German outdoor pool

In Hesse, several underage girls were sexually abused at the Barbarossabad pool in Gelnhausen. The incidents occurred last Sunday around 5 p.m. in the whirlpool area, where a group of men touched the girls inappropriately.

The police arrested four suspects, aged 18 to 28, who are Syrian nationals. Another suspect fled the scene. All have been charged and banned from the pool.

Initially, five girls reported the assaults, but the number has since increased to nine. The victims range from 11 to 17 years old. The Mayor confirmed this was the first incident of its kind at the pool this year, and more victims may come forward.
