Britain jumps into bed with Palantir in £1.5b defense pact

The UK has signed a £1.5 billion defense deal with the US company Palantir, aiming to enhance investment in British military capabilities. This partnership will establish the UK as Palantir's European headquarters and create around 350 jobs. The collaboration will involve developing AI technology to improve military decision-making and targeting strategies, drawing from experiences in Ukraine. Defense Secretary John Healey emphasized that this agreement will "unlock billions of pounds of investment into UK innovation."

Palantir plans to invest up to £750 million in the UK, reinforcing its military presence in Europe. This deal aligns with a broader £31 billion investment effort from major US tech firms into the UK.
