Second Neuralink patient Alex, plays first-person shooter game CS:2 with his mind

SUMMARY

Alex, a participant in the PRIME Study, received his Neuralink implant and had a successful surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute. He started using the Link to control a computer cursor and quickly surpassed his previous performance with assistive technology.

In just two days, he designed a custom mount using CAD software. Alex also plays video games like Counter-Strike 2 with greater ease, using the Link along with an existing joystick.

Promisingly, there has been no thread retraction observed in his case. Future plans include enhancing digital interactions and enabling more independence for users. Alex expressed, “The Link is a big step on the path of regaining freedom and independence for myself.”
