Alan Dershowitz urges Trump to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell next

Prominent attorney Alan Dershowitz is urging President Trump to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for facilitating sex trafficking for Jeffrey Epstein. Dershowitz claims Maxwell was a "scapegoat" and that her excessive sentence stems from Epstein's death, which shifted focus onto her.

He argues, "Certainly she should get a commutation," citing that her sentence exceeds what she was alleged to have done. Dershowitz believes petitions for clemency should be directed to the White House Counsel and the Justice Department.

Maxwell's family has not yet pursued such appeals, but there is speculation about a potential pardon, especially given Trump's previous pardons for others. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for trafficking underage girls and has lost her appeal.
