Prince Andrew gives up his royal titles

Prince Andrew has decided to give up his title as Duke of York amid ongoing scrutiny over his connections to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In a personal statement, he mentioned he continues to "vigorously deny the accusations against me."

He acknowledged that the accusations distract from the work of the King and the Royal Family. Consequently, he will step back from public life further, returning his titles and honors.

Andrew has faced scandals including settling a court case with Virginia Giuffre and questions about his finances and contact with Epstein. Although he will remain a prince, his role has been diminished significantly.
